The Gottesman Family Israel Aquarium, Jerusalem, is Israel’s first aquarium. Its mission is to preserve the aquatic habitats in Israel. When visiting Jerusalem, be sure to make a stop at the Israel Aquarium. It offers the opportunity to meet the underwater inhabitants from the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea and even from the Sea of Galilee. There are a variety of creatures to be encountered from the Harduf coast to the depths of the open sea.
A visit begins in the entrance hall that is filled with a huge aquarium. Here you can watch thousands of fish swimming together in one direction.
Adjacent you will find the “Four Seas” gallery, where visitors will learn some interesting facts about the seas of Israel. The Israel Aquarium also features several galleries that showcase local fish farming and aquaculture techniques.
