The guided Bethlehem tour in the West Bank is a great way to experience the city of Jesus’ birth. The first stop is made at the oldest church in the world, where it all began: the Church of the Nativity, the birthplace of Jesus. In this church, you can visit the different chapels of the Catholic, Armenian and Greek Orthodox Christians.
Afterwards, you will stop at the grotto of the Franciscan nuns and learn how the “Milk Grotto” got its name. It is a large underground cave with a Franciscan chapel built directly on top. This is the place where Mary and Joseph are said to have taken Jesus to safety from King Herod before fleeing through the Holy Land to Egypt.
The last stop is at the shepherds’ fields on the outskirts of the city. This is where the shepherds are said to have placed the star of Christ’s birth before setting off to find Jesus. The fields are home to a number of impressive shrines and a beautiful chapel that attract pilgrims from all over the world.
This tour offers a great opportunity to spend a day immersed in the holy city of Bethlehem.
