“If you will it, it is no dream”. Wrote Theodore Herzl, the father of the modern Jewish state, dreaming of the day it might become a reality.
No words could more clearly apply to the recent opening of the Friends of Zion Museum than the above words of the Father of the Modern Day Jewish State. For centuries, the Biblical prophecies of Jews returning to their homeland seemed like only a distant dream, yet a dream remembered year after year with Jews repeating the promise “next year in Jerusalem”.
Supporting this dream for a homeland Throughout history, this dream for a homeland has been supported by Christian Zionists who have stood with courage, nurturing care, and in many cases, sacrificed their lives to protect the Jewish people.
Although there is an increasing awareness in Israel of historic support from these non-Jewish friends, many remain unaware of the Christian heroes, such as Corrie ten Boom and her father, who have given their lives to save God’s Chosen People, and others who helped to establish the present-day State of Israel.
The Friends of Zion Museum exists to tell their story.
